Corporate Functions
SOUL CITY is an energetic, experienced (and of course good looking!), seven piece soul/funk function band of hugely talented professional musicians. Between them, they have played and recorded with an impressive list of artists including Jools Holland, Amy Winehouse, Will Young, Roy Ayers, Alexander O’Neal, Alice Russell, De La Soul, Nitin Sawney, Viola Wills, Turin Brakes, The Freemasons and Quantic Soul Orchestra, to mention just a few! The front line are a dynamic and charismatic combination made up of lead singer Christabel Cossins, with her beautiful and awesomely powerful vocal talent, band leader, Rob (Dragonfly) Heasman on trumpet (whose nickname comes from his ability to effortlessly soar over the notes), and the musically gifted Ben Sarfas on Saxophone. The back line are funkier than Grandma’s bloomers, with the world class drummer Sam Glasson keeping time on drums, Simon “The Godfather” Robinson playing up a storm on keys, Tom Cheek holding down the funkiest basslines and the phenomenal Tom Walker playing blistering solos on guitar.
If you were to look up the words class and talent in the dictionary you would be sure to find a picture of the Soul City fucntion band next to them! This band will keep you and your function’s guests spellbound and dancing all night and “one more’ will never be enough!
